Looking for an Ohio truck accident lawyer? Michael Leizerman has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer multiple times.
I have handled cases across the country. I am licensed in several states, and have local counsel in many states who I trust and work with closely. Select your state to learn more:
I've had the benefit of mentoring with my law partner E.J. Leizerman, who's one of the best trial lawyers in the country, plus I've studied state of the art jury psychology as taught by the American Association for Justice, Eric Oliver, David Ball, Rick Friedman's Rules of the Road and others. I'm also a graduate of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College. I've mixed the best of all these methods in developing my trial strategies. I'm the managing partner of our firm E.J. Leizerman & Associates. I'm proud to continue my family's tradition of fighting for victims against unsafe and negligent trucking companies. It takes a little fire in the belly to fight with trucking and insurance companies every day, but as mad as they can make me-and boy can they, even after all these years, I still get personally offended when the insurance company offers $500,000 when one of their insured's trucks crossed the centerline and killed somebody's mother. I try to put myself in my client's position. Half a million dollars when you killed my mother. I don't think so. But while I know I can be passionate, I've learned that the best way to beat them is old-fashioned hard work. That's why I'm not afraid to put these videos on the Internet. If you're a company truck attorney that's watching this to learn my secret, here it is: Be Prepared. Just like I learned in Boy Scouts. And I don't mind sharing that because there's nothing the other side can do about it. To properly handle a truck crash case, I dedicate a great deal of time to exploring many different avenues-how was the truck loaded, was the pre-trip inspection proper, what was the relationship with the shipper, what was the maintenance on the vehicle, and so on.
I've found that I can only handle a small number of these cases at a time in order to devote the time and energy necessary to succeed. I started my career handling 150 cases at a time. I know people who still do this. I don't know how. I try to handle about a dozen or fewer cases at a time. I'm choosey about the cases I get involved in, but when I agree to take your case, I'll handle your case aggressively, honestly, and passionately. And I'm not afraid to take a case to trial. I love going to trial and, if you want me to, I'll take your case all the way.
