Oregon
Oregon is known for its wealth of agricultural products including potatoes, peppermint, hops, apples and pears and it stands as one of the world's four major hazelnut-growing regions. Ranking third among U.S. states with 303 wineries, Oregon boasts the perfect combination of soil and climate for growing grapes. Its immense forests make Oregon a leader among the nation's timber producers, and despite the challenges brought about by over-harvesting, it continues to be America's top producer of softwood lumber.
