The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is currently seeking comments on proposed rulemaking that will change inspections of tires for commercial motor vehicles carrying hazardous materials

FROM every two hours or 100 miles
TO the start of the trip and each time the vehicle is parked.

The change is reportedly to eliminate unnecessary stops that provide hijackers with theft opportunities.
