Rotten Meat Spill Closes Ohio Interstate

A section of Ohio’s I-471 was shut down on September 24, 2007 due to a tractor trailer accident carrying a load of meat down the highway. The driver carrying a large load of sausages, and other type’s meat, overturned after a car lost control and hit the truck while it was traveling in the same direction on the interstate in Ohio.

The 21 year old driver of the car said he could not control his Toyota Camry while traveling southbound. He said the car started to spin until it hit the trailer carrying the massive amount of meat. The driver of the truck tried to move out of the way but he hit the median causing the truck to overturn. During the collision with the median, a large part of the truck’s trailer was torn off causing the meat spill unto the highway.

The news reported that it took rescue crews nearly six hours to get all the rotten meat off the freeway. The highway patrol reported that there were no serious injuries during the accident.
